About Me

Hey, I'm Ian.

I scored a 1570 on the SAT. Outside of tutoring, I play tennis and I'm seriously passionate about engineering. SAT prep started for me as something I got curious about, not because I love standardized tests, but because I wanted to understand why the College Board writes its questions the way they do.

I never thought of myself as someone who was naturally good at these tests. I just kept asking why questions worked the way they did, and the patterns started to click. Once they did, my score jumped, and friends started asking for help. That turned into a real coaching practice across both Math and Reading & Writing.

Common questions

Do you teach both Math and Reading & Writing?

Yes, both sections, in every package. Most students need work on both, and the strategy work in each transfers more than people think.

How is this different from Khan Academy or a big test-prep company?

Khan is great for content, weak on strategy. Big companies use scripts. I run the diagnostic myself, build your plan myself, and adjust it weekly based on what you're actually missing.

Do you teach the digital SAT?

Yes, exclusively. All strategy work, pacing, and Desmos integration is built around the current digital format.

What score range do you work with?

Anywhere from a starting point around 1100 up to perfect-score chasers. The method scales. What changes is which weak categories we target.

Where are sessions held?

Online over Zoom with a shared digital whiteboard. Students worldwide. Sessions are recorded so you can review them.

What if I'm not sure it's the right fit?

How does the 50-point score guarantee work?

Take a starting diagnostic before your first session. Complete the full tutoring package (attend all scheduled sessions, do the assigned homework). Sit for an official SAT within 60 days of finishing. If your real test score didn't go up by at least 50 points from the diagnostic, I'll refund the full package cost. Basically, do the work and the guarantee is yours.
